Everything organizers usually ask before their first event.
- Do guests need to download an app?
- No. Scanning the QR code opens Momento in the phone's browser. Guests type a first name and they're in — no app store, no account, no password. Guests can add it to their home screen if they want, but it's optional.
- Does it work without wifi?
- Guests need an internet connection to join and to upload a photo, so mobile data or venue wifi is required. If the connection drops mid-upload, the guest can retry from the same screen.
- Who owns the photos?
- You do — the organizer of the event. Photos are stored privately and are only visible to guests who joined that specific event, plus anyone you show the venue slideshow to.
- How long are photos stored?
- Photos stay available while the event exists in your account. You can export the full album as a ZIP at any time, and deleting the event removes the photos.
- Can I remove a photo I don't want in the album?
- Yes. The organizer panel lists every photo, and you can hide any of them. Hidden photos disappear from the guest gallery and the slideshow immediately, and you can restore them later.
- Can the guests of honour be surprised?
- Yes. Turn on couple's reveal and the album is hidden behind a placeholder until you tap 'Reveal now' — useful when the couple or the graduate shouldn't see it during the party.
- How do the photo reminders work?
- You set a time window, for example 18:00 to 23:00 in your event's time zone. Each guest is assigned their own random moment inside that window and gets a reminder then, so photos arrive throughout the event instead of all at once. Guests who join late get theirs a few minutes after joining.
- Can I use it for something other than a wedding?
- Yes. Momento has presets for 15 event types including birthdays, baby showers, graduations, engagements, anniversaries, retirements and reunions. Each preset comes with a matching theme, welcome message and photo prompts you can edit.
- Can I show the photos on a screen at the venue?
- Yes. Open the slideshow link on any laptop, TV or projector. New photos appear as they're taken, with the guest's message underneath.
- How do I get the album afterwards?
- Download it from the organizer panel as a ZIP containing every original-resolution photo plus a text file with all the guestbook messages.
